New Year's Eve real wedding
Updated: May 8, 2019
Catherine married Max on NYE 2019. Catherine visited Lara B in May 2019 the day before her friend got married and bought her dress from us.
Catherine knew she wanted simplicity with a hint of pretty but otherwise pretty open minded. Her frame was very petite, so we needed to make sure she shone from with in the dress and not be taken over with too much volume and drama.
Our Lara B Couture collection became her firm favourite, as it meant we could mix and match the skirts to find the volume that worked best. Although Catherine always felt like the skirt was on the edge of too big, her Mother and us reassured her it really wasn't and on her day it will best suited. Sometimes it is harder to imagine yourself on your day in a larger venue and Church on Catherine's day. Suddenly the bride becomes and feels so much smaller in the bigger picture of the day! Never feel uncomfortable but dare to feel a little over dressed! Everyone else will be too, after all, lol.
The dress was a simple, elegant Duchess Satin bodice with ball gown skirt and then a separate corded lace over jacket. It's boat neck style and 3/4 length sleeves balanced Catherine perfectly and created a real evening feel, as the wedding was quite late in the day. The mood of the day was elegant, traditional, romantic and luxurious, with candle light and a real party feel to the celebration too.
Catherine always shared her experience with her lovely, very stylish, Mother.
Even through times of 'wobbles' from Catherine, her Mother came with support. Catherine wobbled near the end that she had chosen the wrong shade of Ivory for her dress. However, after a re-visit she was able to see how colours can change with light and in fact she suited the warm Ivory colour she chose.
Catherine was presented last minute with this amazing Heir Loom from her now Husband's family. The Victorian veil worn by his Great Grandmother, Grandmother and Mother, was something with such beauty. Preserved so well, the lace edge on the silk veil was just so special and beautiful!
Leaving church in the dark of the early winter evening, and a row of sparklers was just stunning and just the party style they wanted for a NYE wedding.
Tables of greenery and glass. Simple, elegant and in keeping of the winter wedding it was.
Catherine wanted to be able to create a different look with ease and this was perfect. The black ribbon detail added glamour with such style and elegance.
Such a lovely bride and Mother to have in store. Always a pleasure and we wish you well XX
